Wisdom teeth: extract or monitor
Wisdom teeth are surrounded by fears and just as many myths — from "remove them all at once" to "never touch them". Our approach is different: we do not extract everything in sight. The decision is made from the scan and the indications — for each tooth individually.
When extraction is genuinely indicated
- the tooth grows sideways and presses into the neighbouring molar, gradually destroying it;
- partial eruption: the tooth has only partly emerged and the gum flap over it keeps getting inflamed;
- caries or damage that cannot be properly treated because of the tooth's position;
- pressure on the dental arch that interferes with orthodontic treatment.
When monitoring is enough
A fully erupted, well-positioned wisdom tooth that you can keep clean is an ordinary tooth: it is treated and monitored like the rest. There is no reason to remove it "just in case".
How extraction works
- Diagnostics. A 3D scan shows the position of the roots and their relation to the nerve and neighbouring teeth — the doctor plans the access in advance.
- Anaesthesia and extraction. Pain-free and careful, with respect for the surrounding tissues.
- Aftercare and follow-up. Clear instructions for the healing period and a follow-up examination.
Why Code Dental
Honesty is how we work: if a tooth can be kept, we will say so directly. If extraction is necessary, we will explain why, show it to you on the scan and carry out the procedure calmly and without pain. Wisdom tooth extraction — from AED 1,000.
